Practices

Practices start in August and continue through the end of October. Practices are once a week and run for 60-90 minutes. Players will focus on fundamental stick skills, basic positions, and team building exercises.

Equipment

Each player must provide a field hockey stick, shin guards, and a mouth guard. Players must bring a water bottle to all practices and games. Turf shoes are recommended.

Uniform

Registration includes a jersey, skort, and matching socks to be worn on Play Days.

Game Format

1st and 2nd grade players participate in Clinic Play Days on Saturday mornings starting the first Saturday after Labor Day. Play Days typically begin at 9:00 AM and end no later than noon. During Play Days, teams play 7v7 in scrimmages that typically run for about 20 minutes. Teams play 3 or 4 scrimmages with breaks between. Parents can expect ~6 Play Days per season. Some travel is required (usually 45 minutes or less).
