Welcome to the home of the Howard Stampede Field Hockey Program based in Howard County, Maryland.

The program is looking for players who will be in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades this coming Fall.

Registration for The 2008 Fall HOWARD STAMPEDE Field Hockey Season is now underway.  The number of teams will be dependent upon the number of qualified coaches at each grade level, so please consider volunteering your time.  Last year, there were three 3^rd/4^th Grade teams, seven 5^th/6^th Grade teams and seven 7^th/8^th Grade teams.  The league in which Stampede teams play has a rule that all teams must be balanced. All new players in the 5th thru 8th Grades this coming Fall are to attend an evaluation session and any 7th/8th Grade player this coming Fall who is interested in being on the Winter Tournament Team will need to attend a tryout. Returning players (except as noted above) and players in the 3rd/4th Grades this coming Fall do not need to be evaluated. Last year was the first year for Stampede's winter Tournament Team which was formed on a trial basis and due to its success, another is planned to be formed for 2008/2009. Final selections for this 7th/8th grade winter Tournament Team will be made by the coaches; additional tbd expenses are involved. The dates for the Evaluation and tryouts for the 7^th/8^th Grade level Tournament Team will be emailed to you and posted on the REGISTER FOR FIELD HOCKEY page when confirmed.   

All registrants, regardless of age, are required to pay a $25 non-refundable registration fee to help cover pre-season expenses; program fees to be determined.  Teams will be formed using the evaluation results, coaches ratings from the prior season, and consideration will be given to geographical area. Special requests will be honored as best as we can. Refunds will be given if your child is not placed on a team.  It is the programs intent to place all of the registrants on a team, however the final determination will be based on the number of qualified coaches that the program has available at each level and field availability.  Players will be notified of their team placement via email by the beginning of June.  GO STAMPEDE!
